Product Manager, Commercial Products

Watts Water Technologies (Canada) Inc. a subsidiary of Watts Water Technologies, Inc. is a world leader in the manufacture of innovative products to control the efficiency, safety, and quality of water within residential, commercial, and institutional applications. We are currently seeking a Product Manager for our newly created Commercial Products group.

The role requires planning, organizing and assigning product lines from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives.

Product lines include: BRAE rainwater harvesting, ORION, BLUCHER, Trench Drains, Powers, Drainage, Pure Water, Watts B&T and Watts AB.

Principal Accountabilities include

  • Monitors and adjusts progress continually through product life cycle to ensure attainment of objectives, especially maximizing profit;
  • Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, marketing, production schedule and sales information for product line;
  • Coordinates and develops marketing, sales, engineering / product development, and financial plans for product line;
  • Prepares product development objectives for all phases of development and introduction to market, as well as all relevant product literature;
  • Participates in product strategy, research and development requirements, analysis of market research, and manufacturing coordination for new products;
  • Collaborates with sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities and provide technical support in sizing, selection and troubleshooting;
  • Provides financial/technical justification for product selection and definition;
  • Provides technical support of all assigned products.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Post secondary education;
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Industry experience is an asset including knowledge of plumbing systems, codes and hydraulic principles;
  • Team player with multi-tasking abilities;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Attention to detail;
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office.

Customer Service Representative

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Representative. The role requires taking customer calls regarding orders, stock, prices and/or providing technical advice/troubleshooting as required.

This position will report to the Customer Service Manager.

Principal Accountabilities include

  • Answer customer phone calls concerning questions of pricing, deliveries, or follow up to existing orders;
  • Make suggestions to customers for appropriate product for application in question;
  • Issue RGA forms to customers as required;
  • Assist Customer Service Manager as required with quotation of specialty projects for agents and primarily the GTA;
  • Refers complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation;
  • Order entry of customer orders as required;
  • Maintain customer database.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; some post-secondary education is preferred;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Technical customer service experience;
  • Excellent customer focus;
  • Team player with multi-tasking abilities;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office.

Sales Representative (Soil Pipe & Fitting Div.)

Bibby Ste-Croix Inc., which will celebrate its 90th anniversary this year, is one of the primary grey iron and ductile iron foundries in North America. With almost 400 employees, we make and market cast iron products destined for the plumbing, aqueduct and waste water markets. We are currently seeking a Sales Representative (Soil Pipe & Fitting Div.) for our Gatineau, Que., and eastern Ontario territory.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Sales for eastern Canada (soil pipe and fittings division), the sales representative will promote Bibby-Ste-Croix’s products among distributors and other stakeholders within the construction industry. The sales representative will see to the development of sales and marketing tools to ensure optimal visibility of our products among our clientele. He/she will represent the soil pipe and fittings division at trade shows and with relevant associations and committees. He/she will regularly visit various construction sites in Ottawa and Toronto. As the business is constantly evolving, the sales representative (soil pipes and fittings division) must have a proactive approach in researching and putting in place the industry’s best practices.

Qualifications

  • Possess a solid track record in sales and representation
  • Knowledge of plumbing, building engineering or a related industry would be an asset
  • Well organized and self-disciplined
  • Resourceful
  • Bilingual
  • Able to travel frequently between Toronto and Ottawa, with occasional travel to other parts of Canada
