Ex-Toronto mayor to address HRAI symposium
February 18, 2019
Former Mayor of Toronto David Miller, now North American director of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, will be the keynote speaker at the HRAI Spring Symposium on April 23.
The symposium has been designed to help inform the industry on some of the opportunities and challenges presented by Canada’s planned transition to a low-carbon economy, as well as provide networking opportunities.
Held at The Joyce Partnership for Innovation in Hamilton, Ont., the day will run from 8.30am to 3pm and include a walk-through of the award-winning, net-zero facility.
Miller, mayor of Canada’s largest city from 2003 to 2010, will review challenges faced by cities – and the efforts underway to address them – as the economy transforms.
Also taking to the stage, Alice Rosenberg from the Consortium for Energy Efficiency will talk about the evolving dynamics and objectives as they relate to the energy efficiency program landscape.
Participants will also hear from Joyce Henry, director general, Office of Energy Efficiency at Natural Resources Canada, who will provide insight on the Pan-Canadian Framework and how policies related to energy efficiency can be used to ease the transition to a future low-carbon economy.
