Edmonton set to Rohr in OctoberProud Canadians converge in Hawaii for MCAC 2017

At the recent MCAC conference in Maui, Hawaii, in late November, 2010 Olympic gold medalist and host of The Amazing Race Canada, Jon Mongomery, shared stories of what makes him proud to be a Canadian.

He also regaled an audience – consisting of 300 fellow Canadians – about how meeting Theo Fleury changed his views on life, and what’s great about hosting a show that honours some of the things that make our country the envy of the world.

Taco Family of Companies reacquires Taconova
Cranston, Rhode Island-based Taco Family of Companies has reacquired Zurich, Switzerland-based Taconova Group. John Hazen White, Sr., the second-generation owner of Taco, started Taconova in 1961 as a European trading company for Taco, Inc. Later, he sold it to the Guinness Group in 1980.

Carbon capture pilot launched for commercial heating technology
FortisBC has announced a six-month pilot program for businesses that use carbon capture technology to decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Parting Shot: Fastest van on the planet?

While we do not condone speeding through the streets to your next jobsite, here’s a clip of the fastest commercial van that we’ve ever seen. This incredible vehicle was entered into the fastest road race on the planet, the Silver State Classic Challenge, an open road race in Nevada, where it competed in the 150 mile-per-hour division. Any guesses as to what top speed was achieved?

Just remember, this takes place on a closed course and the driver is a professional.
