Numbers add up for CIPHEX West

The organizers of CIPHEX West, Western Canada’s largest mechanical trades event, have crunched the numbers following the show’s most recent staging, in Calgary last month. In addition to personnel from exhibiting companies, more than 2,100 buyers and decision-makers attended the two-day show, and 91 per cent of them said they would return to another CIPHEX West show, which is good news looking ahead.

The New Product Showcase was a popular stop in the show hall, with 60 products being whittled down by a panel of judges to eight category winners. Check them all out here.

CIPHEX West will return on November 4 and 5, 2020 at the Pacific National Exhibition – Coliseum in Vancouver, B.C.

Jazzing up the day job

Ever wondered what to do with all that pipe just lying about after a job? A group of Russian tradesmen have come up with an environmentally friendly solution – and a handy side gig – by turning plumbing waste into musical instruments. After a bit of trial and error with different types of pipe and various other bits and bobs found lying around the site, this talented bunch created their own jazz orchestra.
